Is the free plan really free forever?
Yes! Our free plan will always be free. We believe everyone should have access to great African and diaspora literature. Paid plans exist for readers who want extra features and to support our mission — not as a paywall for basic access.
How do you select the stories?
Our editorial team reads submissions from over 200 literary magazines, journals, and online publications daily. We look for literary quality, unique voice, cultural significance, and emotional resonance. We also prioritize diversity within the African and diaspora literary space — balancing established names with emerging writers, different regions, genres, and perspectives.
Can I submit my own writing?
We feature work that has been published in established literary venues. If your work appears in a magazine or journal we monitor, it may be selected for our digest. We're always expanding our source list — feel free to suggest publications we should follow.
How often will I receive emails?
Our main digest goes out every morning (you can choose your timezone). Insider and Patron members receive an additional monthly digest with exclusive content. You can adjust your email preferences anytime in your account settings.
Can I cancel my paid subscription anytime?
Absolutely. You can cancel your Insider or Patron subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll continue to have access to paid features until the end of your billing period, and you'll automatically revert to our free plan — no hard feelings.
Do you have a mobile app?
